From Nusa Penida, we went directly to Nusa Ceningan where we stayed another 3 nights. We loved the laid back vibe of this Island and could have stayed even longer. But to explore everything we would recommend you to stay here 2-3 nights.
How to get to Nusa Ceningan / Nusa Lembongan
We took the speed boat from Nusa Penida, which takes you about 20 min and costs you IDR 50K (3.50 $) per person.
You can also visit Nusa Ceningan directly from Bali by taking the speed boat at Sanur Harbor. This journey will take you about 45 minutes and will cost you around IDR 200K, which is about 14 $. Take note that the ferry will drop you at Nusa Lembongan because only this Island has a harbor. But don’t worry if you want to go to Nusa Ceningan because these two islands are connected with a bridge.
How to get around on Nusa Ceningan / Nusa Lembongan
The very best way to get around on these Islands is by scooter. There is not much traffic, and the roads are good, so it’s quite easy to drive here. Also because the bridge which connects the two Islands is only big enough to be crossed by scooter or of course by walking. If you don’t want to drive a motorbike to rent a bicycle would be a great option too. You can also walk if you have more time to spend or only want to visit one of the two islands. To rent a scooter will cost you around IDR 70-80K per day, which is around 5 $.
Things to do on Nusa Ceningan
A yellow bridge connects Nusa Ceningan and its neighbor island Nusa Lembongan. Both Islands are tropical paradises with white sand beaches and laid back vibes. Take it slow, and enjoy the island vibes and the many cute beach cafes here.
Blue Lagoon Nusa Ceningan
You should not miss this place, which is located in the southwestern part of the Island. We could not believe our eyes how blue the water is there. It’s not because of the edit we promise 🙂 It’s not a beach to swim but definitely one you should see.
Have Lunch at a cute Beach Cafe
Our favorite beach cafe was The Sand Ceningan. But there are several charming cafes along the coast western coast of the island. They all have cute swings and hammocks in the water where you can relax and enjoy a delicious smoothie bowl.
Our favorite Restaurant when it comes to Breakfast and Coffee is Next Level Cafe, and it’s in the same street. Try their peanut butter smoothie bowl is delicious.
Cross the Yellow Bridge and explore Nusa Lembongan Island
Drive over the yellow bridge with your scooter and enjoy beautiful beaches on Nusa Lembongan or go on a boat tour in the beautiful Mangrove forest in the southern part of the island.
The best beaches on the Island are:
- Dream Beach (beautiful, little beach to swim, gets busy)
- Mushroom Bay Beach (beautiful more quiet beach to swim or SUB)
- Tamarind Beach (good for swimming and snorkeling)
- Coconut Beach (beach for swimming and relaxing)
- Jungutbatu Beach (main beach, long with beach clubs)
Visit the adventurous neighbour Island Nusa Penida
Only a 20 min ride by speed boat away you can find the bigger and more famous Island Nusa Penida with insanely beautiful, but not easy to access beaches like Kelingking Beach or Diamond Beach.
4 Best things to do on Nusa Penida Island
Stay at a cute little Beach hut on Nusa Ceningan
There are various options of cute beach huts to stay at. We chose to stay at Le Pirate and our hut was small but so comfy. And don’t forget to enjoy all the beautiful sunsets. We loved enjoying the sunset from Le Pirate. You can also come here for a sunset drink without staying at the hotel.
