On the south coast of Sri Lanka in Weligama, we stayed at a very cool place called Ceylon Sliders.
This place is run by Petter and Linn, who followed their dream and started with a travel blog too when they first left home after finishing college. They found living the surfing lifestyle in the tropics would be their dream life and decided to move to Sri Lanka.
We loved their story and decided that we need to stay at Ceylon Sliders to experience what they have built. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
The Ceylon Sliders is located at the beach in Weligama and is a very cool spot. They only have a few rooms which are spacious and beautifully furnished. We loved our room and the big terrace we had. But they have a cool cafe and rooftop restaurant as well.
Surfing Weligama
Weligama is one of the bays which is quite well known for surfing as well. It isn’t the most beautiful beach to chill at, but it is perfect for surf beginners. We either rented some surfboards on the beach for less than 1 Dollar per hour, or we rented one at our accommodation.
There are several small surfing schools on the beach where you can take a lesson. Ceylon Sliders Weligama offers surfing classes as well.
Ceylon Sliders Cafe & Rooftop Restaurant
At Ceylon Sliders, they serve very delicious food as well. They have a cute Café in their courtyard and also a newer opened rooftop restaurant where we had a few lovely dinners enjoying the sunset with the delicious food and drinks. The menu of both Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner are vegan friendly.
The Café and rooftop are, of course, open to the public and not only for their overnight guests. So if you are around, we recommend you to go for lunch or dinner.
Ceylon Sliders also has a cute little store at the entrance with lovely stuff. They sell very cool surfboards, swimwear, clothing, jewelry and accessories, and even beauty products and gifts. We bought there our stain straws and were super happy that from that day on, we never used a single plastic straw anymore.
